The truth..

..Is that sometimes I sit, looking at some of my paintings, and think “did I actually make those??”.

Time flies by too darn fast. I’m going to be  23 next week and all I can remember is my 19th birthday, when I understood for the first time that I’m getting old. It sucks.

Well, I sure do hope I’m immortal.

Hya!

I’m done! First year has left the building!!

Shadow

So here, I’m uploading the last work I had to present this semester at school. We had to make a painting on the subject of “shadow”. I decided to use this opportunity and paint a self portrait, since I had a canvas solely for that cause. Oils on canvas:

Dream sequence

A final project in etching class. I combined 2 of my previous works with a new one creating another work, which should be representing a dream. The photo is of a bad quality and I promise to upload a better one when I manage to take a photo in a better lit place.

Dead pigeon and a print.

Here are 2 works I did lately. The first one is a drawing of a dead pigeon I did for interdisciplinary class on the subject of “mechanism/system”. In the work I am referring to a moment in my childhood when the whole idea of the circle of life dawned on me. It was when I saw a dead pigeon near school with worms wriggling in it and thought “it was flying, then it died and now it’s feeding the worms and the flowers”. Here I am trying to show one of the beautiful things in our world – the circle of life.

The second work is a print, done in etching techniques – soft wax and aquatint.

New Photograph and a short rant

We had a studio lesson this week. I produced a not-so-bad photograph, but after I opened it on my laptop I found out something I knew all the time – my teacher isn’t that bright and I should have checked the camera after her. I have a low-quality JPG files and high-quality NEF files. The JPG is garbage, while I can’t even open NEF in my photoshop.

Anyways, I’ll upload the JPG file I’ve got anyway and sometime, when I have access to my school’s computer, I’ll upload the good version.

Pears WIP

I’ve been making a house-warming gift for a friend of mine who moved in with her boyfriend :]

So here’s the work in progress – I need about 2 more sessions until the painting is done. Oil on canvas.
