Apathy

Here’s  the first work on my theme this year. I chose to talk about teenagers, about the questions of existence that come to bother many in that age – do I exist? Does anything? And if I do, does it matter?

This subject is a very close matter to me and I feel very strongly about it. Even though I don’t agree with my teenage thoughts, sometimes I still find myself questioning my existence. I think it comes from the modern, post-modern and post-post-modern approach that everything was done before, “I” was done before and everybody can be replaced by someone exactly the same if not even much much better.

I chose to deliver this subjects through paintings/drawings of teenagers that give an apathetic feeling, not creating eye-contact, completely absorbed in themselves, both making you question your being there and questioning their existence themselves.

Pen, marker, crayons and pastels.

More comics

Here are 5 more pages to my comic ^^

Lips

I sketched this silly thing and a friend of mine suggested turning it into some kind of comics or something. I guess I’ll give it a go >_> dunno.

Here’s the opening pic and the 1st page.

Invisible

I love my shoes, they are very reliable, one of the only reliable things ever.

Ars Poetica

I made a new piece for a contest held on dA. It’s about my feeling of godliness when creating something. I really like the style of work I used and how free you can get with this medium. This work isn’t as free as I’d like it ideally to be, but it’s for a contest so it’s as free as possible.

Dead pigeon and a print.

Here are 2 works I did lately. The first one is a drawing of a dead pigeon I did for interdisciplinary class on the subject of “mechanism/system”. In the work I am referring to a moment in my childhood when the whole idea of the circle of life dawned on me. It was when I saw a dead pigeon near school with worms wriggling in it and thought “it was flying, then it died and now it’s feeding the worms and the flowers”. Here I am trying to show one of the beautiful things in our world – the circle of life.

The second work is a print, done in etching techniques – soft wax and aquatint.

Post Apocalyptic Icon

A work for class on the theme of religion. IMO post-apocalyptic icons won’t be in churches but on the streets, giving hope for a brighter future (thus Jesus isn’t wearing any protection, unlike his mother).
