Dream Sequence

I have finally finished a piece! I’m very happy with it and I’m planning on starting a series with it, consisting of smaller paintings and another 1 or 3 paintings the same size (haven’t decided yet). I called this work (or rather, the series) “Dream Sequence”. It’s watercolor and about 60×40 cm.

Suffocation

It’s the continuing piece to the one in my previous post, talking about practically the same concept of isolation, suffocation, being unable to connect or relate to your surroundings.

Apathy

Here’s  the first work on my theme this year. I chose to talk about teenagers, about the questions of existence that come to bother many in that age – do I exist? Does anything? And if I do, does it matter?

This subject is a very close matter to me and I feel very strongly about it. Even though I don’t agree with my teenage thoughts, sometimes I still find myself questioning my existence. I think it comes from the modern, post-modern and post-post-modern approach that everything was done before, “I” was done before and everybody can be replaced by someone exactly the same if not even much much better.

I chose to deliver this subjects through paintings/drawings of teenagers that give an apathetic feeling, not creating eye-contact, completely absorbed in themselves, both making you question your being there and questioning their existence themselves.

Pen, marker, crayons and pastels.

Ars Poetica

I made a new piece for a contest held on dA. It’s about my feeling of godliness when creating something. I really like the style of work I used and how free you can get with this medium. This work isn’t as free as I’d like it ideally to be, but it’s for a contest so it’s as free as possible.

Shadow

So here, I’m uploading the last work I had to present this semester at school. We had to make a painting on the subject of “shadow”. I decided to use this opportunity and paint a self portrait, since I had a canvas solely for that cause. Oils on canvas:

Self Portrait!

We’ve been given an assignment in painting to do a self portrait. Here’s mine – watercolors and markers. I forgot to silver the shoelaces holes, so consider it partially finished.

Rooster

Not a new one, but done quite recently. Watercolors.
